"The 420 set hits different...
When I built this set last year I wondered if there would be enough interest to keep the set up for the entire month of April.
I decided that even if there wasn't any interest that I would do it for me.
In my teen years I was forced to grow up way too quickly. Trying to support a family and working multiple jobs is really stressful for any teenager, so I found myself using weed as a way to relieve stress.
That teenage Robin still lives inside of me, the one who had just grown out her emo haircut, still listened to my chemical romance even though it wasn't cool anymore, still was on MySpace even though everyone else had moved on to Facebook.
My teenage self would have loved to have a bedroom like this, with string lights, blacklight, that mushroom wall tapestry that so many of my "stoner" friends had, and everything I dreamed of but never had because I was too busy working.
When I had a ton of interest for this set last year from so many unexpected people, I realized that all of you around my age also identify with this moment in time, of growing up in the 2006-2012 era where myspace, emocore and scene core thrived.
Let's live there again but this time we're grown, we're sexy and we are so much more confident in ourselves."

This is so unlike me to do this sort of thing. I’ve seen boudoir photos before and thought “wow, I wish I could be that confident.” When two friends got their photos done by Robin I realized I really wanted to be brave and go outside my comfort zone. I wanted to look hot and confident! I’m the shy gal who gets nervous changing at the pool, so posing in underwear in front of a stranger is just a crazy thought but it oddly wasn’t weird at all. Robin made me feel so at ease. She kicks off the session with a mini facial. I got to sip a mimosa as she did my hair and makeup (which I don’t know how to do). As I tried on outfits, she made me feel so proud of my body. My body has done some crazy things over the last three years (kids) and its wonderful to have photos that really celebrate it. While I know my husband is going to love the photos. Let’s face it, I really did this for me. If you are on the fence…do it. It’s a empowering experience. And I LOVE the photos. Now I want to do this every few years so I can continue to appreciate my awesomely imperfect body.

Always contemplated boudoir but never dove into it because well... I wasn't confident in my own skin for the longest. All those worries of how I thought my body would look like, immediately vanished as soon as I stepped into Robin's studio. I have a new-found confidence in myself, I can't believe these are photos of me! This 420 set was soooooo fun, Robin is a blast to work with. The whole session felt like I was just kickin back with a close girlfriend. Thanks again Robin, this was the perfect anniversary gift. If you're contemplating doing a shoot, just do it!!!

If you’ve been on the fence about doing a boudoir shoot, book it. Don’t let your perception of yourself hold you back. Book the shoot! Throughout my life, I’ve always felt very insecure and ashamed of the plus-size body that I’m in. It’s taken me a lot of years to try to learn how to love myself properly. Some days are most certainly better than others, and those days I hold on tight to. One of those days was my shoot with Robin Ava Austin!I’ve done a handful of boudoir shoots now, and I loved the flow of my shoot with Robin. Don’t worry about knowing how to pose, she will coach you through it. The overall ambiance of the shoot was 10/10! I sipped a mimosa while having my hair and makeup done. Robin is the ultimate hype girl during your shoot. The coolest thing about my experience was the photo reveal. I was able to choose the images that I liked the most.
